AT&T preparing green Sony Ericsson W580i

Do you prefer your mid-level slider handsets in a putrid shade of green Your lucky day may be rapidly approaching. If these leaked promo shots are any indication, the wireless carrier is gearing up to launch a green version of their popular Sony Ericsson W580i handset. As far as we can tell, there’s no change to the specs, so you’ll still be pulling in a 2 megapixel camera, Quad-Band EDGE, media player, and a way-too-cramped keypad. It’s not the greatest phone on the planet, but it’s also not the most expensive, and if lime green is your thing then it might be too good to pass up. No word on drop date or pricing, but don’t expect it to cost any more than the current W580i. Hit the jump for more shots.

Verizon's BlackBerry Curve launches on May 9, too

Turns out the Glyde's gonna have to share the spotlight a bit when it launches early next month. The Curve 8330 has been confirmed by our sources for a May 9 release through Verizon's B2B, web, and telesales channels, followed by a May 12 launch in 'all channels' (which we assume means you'll be able to walk into any old store and grab one). It'll go for $319.99 before $50 rebate on a two-year contract, ranging all the way up to $439.99 if you have no interest in signing your name on the dotted line. 'Course, Sprint told us point-blank that it'd be launching the Curve in April and that didn't exactly pan out, so we recommend exercising some restraint here until your jaded heart actually spies it on Verizon's site -- or better yet, on a store shelf.

Verizon to launch Samsung Glyde on May 9

We've learned from a trusted source that one of the jewels in Verizon's summer 2008 crown, the Samsung Glyde, will finally freaking launch on May 9. Despite a wealth of both in-the-wild and press quality photography of the phone over the past few weeks, it's been less and less clear when exactly Verizon was planning on actually offering it, so we're glad to finally have a date -- particularly considering that it's less than two weeks away. That'll give the Glyde a few comfortable weeks atop the heap ahead of the Dare's arrival, so enjoy it while you can, Samsung.

New Nokia Concepts Wow

New Nokia Concepts Wow

Nokia showed off several concept handsets at its first ever 'Design Event' in Central London at their new Studio, with the 'People First' concept being more on the software side, showing a list of people you communicate with based on your last interaction with said person. Sounds like a more organized call log than anything else to me, so it makes me wonder why would something like that take 3 to 5 years to be released? Up next is the 'Zero Waste Charger' attempts to reduce power consumption with methods such as a built-in charger timer that activates the device only when it needs juice, but otherwise won't be a power vampire. As for the 'Wears in, not out' concept, this does take some brain cells to decipher as the press release mentioned :-

'As more services become available on our mobile devices this concept explores how people could potentially upgrade their devices digitally rather than physically in the future, giving people an additional choice on how they use and update their mobile phones.'

MobileBurn Reviews the Samsung SGH-i620 Smartphone

http://www.mobileburn.com/review.jsp?Id=4528

'Our friends at Samsung were kind enough to slip us a bright white SGH-i620 while we were visiting them at the 2008 CTIA Wireless show in Las Vegas. This particular i620 was built for Vodafone Italy, and sports the company's 'mail & call' logo on its side. The i620 is similar to Samsung's other i6xx series messaging devices, such as the i617 BlackJack II, and runs the same Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard edition operating system. It is a tri-band GSM/EDGE cellphone that can get HSDPA 3G data speeds on 2100MHz networks, such as those in Europe.'

Michael Oryl from MobileBurn brings us another review of the Samsung i620 Windows Mobile Smartphone. Similar to the i640v that we posted on earlier, this particular device is also on the Vodafone network. It looks like Vodafone is the hip network to be on at the moment. Once again, this is another device that I wish they would bring over to North America. My original Samsung Blackjack is starting to feel a bit dated and all of this Samsung i6xx news is really making me get the 'I need a new phone' bug. Guess it's time to start Smartphone shopping again!

Samsung Adidas miCoach Review - PhoneArena

Samsung Adidas miCoachPhoneArena reviews the Samsung Adidas miCoach: ‘The Samsung Adidas miCoach is a wonderful assistant in this activity. It not only can teach you to run, but it helps you keep up with the progress you make. The Samsung Adidas miCoach has everything a mid-class phone needs, but is only worth the money if you are hooked like me…us. The system is a unique combination of three things – a phone, a music player, and an interactive personal trainer. The alternative solutions on the market, such as Garmin’s Forerunner line, are based on GPS tracking. This makes them suitable for various sport activities, but they can’t give you an advice while you are exercising like the Samsung Adidas miCoach. On top of that, in order to see my results I will have to pay a monthly fee, meanwhile, membership at miCoach.com is free. The rival web sites don’t let me make my own schedule and set goals. They don’t assist you, but only track you. If I use them I will have to carry a separate music player plus a phone, which I don’t think is very convenient.’

Nokia showcases 6600 fold, 6600 slide, and 3600 slide

Looking to keep the heat on after its XpressMusic reveals last week, Nokia has gotten real with a three-pack of dumbphones that eschew S60 but hang onto a laundry list of relatively high-end features. The 6600 comes in both 'fold' and 'slide' designations, but the spec sheets are surprisingly different considering that they share a model number in common. The fold rocks out with a 2.13-inch QVGA OLED and 2 megapixel camera, while the slide gets upgraded to a 3.2 megapixel sensor but loses the OLED designation on its 2.2-inch display. Both models also include a rather fascinating feature that allows the user to double-tap on the phone's surface to wake it up or silence it (which begs the question, could we heave it at a wall to achieve the same effect?). The fold comes in at €275 and the slide at 250 -- about $430 and $390, respectively, before carrier subsidies bring those puppies down from the stratosphere.

The pictured 3600 slide, meanwhile, gets no fold companion -- but with its in-your-face color scheme, it really doesn't need any help. This one gets a 3.2 megapixel autofocus lens with dual LED flashes, TV out, and microSD expansion for 175 (about $273). All three devices lack 3G but feature quadband EDGE, so pretty much everyone around the globe without a need for fast data can get in on this action when it all ships in the third quarter.

Nokia N78 vs N82

Few days ago we posted a series of photos that compare two of the high-end Nokia NSeries devices N95 8GB and N96. We're still in the high-end spectrum, though not that high as the mentioned two devices. It's the N78 and N82 time and we have a new series of photos that show and compare the two devices.

There's no doubt the N82 is a better camera phone — it has a 5 megapixel camera while the N82 has 'only' 3.2 megapixels — but that FM transmitter built inside the N78 does sound tempting. Both devices, though, have somewhat awkward keypads. What do you think and which one you prefer?

Iqua BHS-603 SUN Accepts Solar Charging

200 hours of standby time and up to 9 hours of talk time, that’s what you can expect from this headset in the dark. The solar panel on the side, yeah, that should up those numbers a respectable amount in the sun light.

iqua-603sun-1

Its 14 grams, which is pretty light, and as far as BT headsets go, its not too terribly unattractive, which is surprising considering adding solar panels generally makes whatever they’ve been added to quite hideous. Its kind of sad we had to wait this long for such an obvious solar power upgrade, I mean sure, on cell phones, not much sense, they are usually in your pocket, but headsets, generally on your head, in direct sunlight.

iqua-603sun-2

Key Features

  • Answer/end/reject call

  • Last number redial

  • Voice dial activate (when supported by mobile phone)

  • Mute

  • Volume control

  • Switch between phone and handsfree modes

  • Bluetooth connection active, call status and battery low indicated by multi-colored LEDs

  • Automatic reconnection to default user or the last user

  • Automatic reconnection at power on and disconnect at power off

  • Support for VOIP calls

  • Reset hardware and software

The bluetooth headset is sold at $99 USD, but is out of stock until May according to the company

LG KF750 launched, now known as secret, thinnest 5 MP camera phone on the market

Dusan wrote about LG adding a third member to the Black Label Series at the beginning of the month and it looks like it finally happened with the KF750. This 102.8 x 50.8 x 11.8 mm thin, 116 gram device has a 5 megapixel camera with facial recognition, 2.4 inch 240 x 320 resolution 262k color touch enabled screen and has a built in accelerometer. The coolest feature, hands down, is the 120 frames per second video recording support at 320 x 240 resolution and 30 frames per second at 640 x 480 resolution. The body is made from Carbon Fibre, is quad band GSM/EDGE, has HSDPA, but I don't know on which frequency, an 800 mAh battery and FM radio. Bluetooth 2.0 of course, but you expected so.

This device has a slick dedicated site that does a really kick ass job of going through everything it can do, nice sound track too, worth checking out.

New Motorola MotoZINE ZN5 picture

Motorola MotoZINE ZN5We already know that Motorola is working on a 5 megapixel monster with a Kodak shooter. The Motorola MotoZINE ZN5, as it's called, is already known to be sporting a Montavista Linux OS, 5 megapixel Kodak branded camera, and the Morph keypad that we see in the Moto ROKR E8. But, we haven't had a clear picture of what the Motorola ZN5 would look like.

That's all changed with this latest picture of the MotoZINE ZN5, thanks to the folks at QQ. The Morph keypad is clearly visible in this shot, and it's looking slightly awkward.

Still, seeing as how this 3G-less handset is going to be an Asia-only job, it doesn't matter what we think.

Here are some more images of the upcoming Nokia E71 QWERTY business smartphone - it comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus capability, but other than that there isn't much else known about it. Verizon Motorola W755

Motorola's W755 will be made available on Verizon, but it won't be the Messiah handset that will pull Motorola out of its current doldrums. After all, a 1.3 megapixel camera, speakerphone capability and stereo Bluetooth connectivity isn't exactly groundbreaking and are more of entry-level requirements. Available in titanium and grey, the W755 features a rather funky looking keyboard and will find a few fans, but otherwise Motorola had best design something better and badder to return to its lofty heights of yore.

Sony Ericsson announces G502 and Z780, finally

Just like we reported yesterday, Sony Ericsson has launched the G502, a mid-range candybar, accompanied by a clamshell, the Z780.

The Z780 brings slightly more to the table than the G502 but is also crippled in many ways, which Sony Ericsson could have made amends to. The Z780 is the worldwide counterpart of the already announced Z770, which is tailored specifically for the European Market.

The feature set isn’t that radically different from what Sony Ericsson has done before, with the sole exception of aGPS inclusion to work with Google Maps.

If you feel the aGPS is a cause for celebration, better think again. The sparse 2.2-inch 128x160 pixel screen pretty much rules out any decent navigation on the already limited experience you would expect on a cell phone navigation-wise.

Otherwise, the Z780 is similar to the G502 we reported on yesterday. It is designed to work on quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and UMTS/HSDPA 850/1900/2100 networks. The device sports a monochrome display on the outside and features an M2 expansion slot, the same 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, USB support, and the Access NetFront web browser with RSS feed support.

Both the phones are expected to hit the marked in the second quarter of 2008 and the prices aren’t disclosed yet, but let’s hope that SE sticks to its ‘most affordable HSDPA phone yet’ tag .

  • Google Maps for Mobile

  • RSS Desktop

Samsung launches Anycall J708

We’ve already had quite a few handset announcements earlier this week (Nokia 5220 and Nokia 5230 XpressMusic, Sony Ericsson G502, LG KF700) and Samsung wants to get in on the ‘new model’ bandwagon by doing an Asian launch of the Samsung Anycall J708. It’s a new low-end slider handset that makes up for its lack of great features with a sleek and shiny design. And did I mention that it’s sexy? I think it’s actually one of Samsung’s prettier handsets - if only it was given a pretty feature set too.

Anycall J708

But the Samsung Anycall J708 doesn’t really disappoint. In fact, it has features that most would consider middle of the road nowadays, so a lot of people may still find this new cellphone attractive.

It’s features include a 1.3 MP cam, Bluetooth A2DP, built-in music player and expandable memory up to 2 GB. So in essence, with the Anycall J708, you get what you pay for. It’s low on features, but don’t forget that it’s low on price too. And last I checked, that’s a good thing.

Motorola A810 gets Linuxy on the FCC

That spy shot of Motorola's A810 turned out to be dead real -- either that or the FCC's pulling the wool over our eyes, and we really don't see that happening (not a lot of humor with those guys, don't you know). Don't get too excited for use of this Linux-based, full touchscreen puppy outside of Asia, though, seeing how the FCC saw fit to approve nothing more than GSM / EDGE 1900; that's an indication that it lacks GSM 850 and the key to our hearts. Other features that made the cut include a 2 megapixel camera (although the picture of the back kinda looks like it says '4.0 megapixel,' doesn't it?) and an FM radio, so to whomever out there has the distinct pleasure of being able to buy this one in their home market, we say: enjoy.

LG releases the touchscreen KF700 in Europe

LG-KF700 touch screen phone

The LG touchscreen phone that made its first appearance during the Mobile World Congress 2008 in Barcelona has finally been released in Europe. As we reported previously, the LG-KF700 sports a full touchscreen display which is serve as one of its three input methods.

Aside from the touchscreen display, the LG-KF700 also has a shortcut dial located at the back of the phone. This dial quickly scrolls through six user-selected features and also controls a virtual dial on screen. So users don’t have to dig through layers of menus anymore just to access the functions that they want to use. Users can also use the shortcut dial to zoom in on web pages as well as scroll through emails and adjust the volume. And finally, LG responded to the users clamors who have grown familiar with and retained the numeric keypad as the phone’s third input method. In addition to these 3 input methods, the LG-KF700 also boasts of other features that include; MP3 player, MP4 video player, a 3-megapixel camera and Bluetooth.

Unboxing and hands-on: SE's ultra-slim W890i walkman phoneI've been obsessed with features, touch screens, and Internet and media player features on phones lately.  So I was surprised when I opened up the Sony Ericsson W890i Walkman phone last night and immediately thought, 'It's sexy as hell and makes phone calls.  I don't care what else it does, I want it.'

Clad in an 9.9mm thin metal body, the W890i actually does a few nifty things beyond mere voice calling.  SE packed a 3.2mp camera, Walkman player with stereo Bluetooth and 2GB memory card, and HTML Web browser into this tiny little package.  But honestly, I almost don't care.  The metal body, rounded edges, and impossibly slim profile are all that matter here - it's that tiny, that cool, and it makes phone calls.  Sold.

Ask me again after I've played with it enough to bemoan the lack of auto-focus or flash on the camera, relatively small screen size, and lack of US-compatible 3G or WiFi data.  But even then I think I'll be happy to take this handset for what it is - a super slim, super sexy little number that makes calls, plays music, and tucks away nicely in a jacket pocket.  If only I had a jacket luxe enough to compliment it.

Samsung Soul now making beautiful music in Europe

Samsung's staying true to its word back at MWC in February, announcing that the Soul slider is now starting to become available in parts of Europe with distribution expanding through the remainder of this month and May. Initial targets for the 'flagship' model (Samsung's wording, not ours) are France, the UK, and Germany, with 'major European carriers' promised to throw their weight behind the launch. Power features on the Soul include a 5 megapixel autofocus camera with face detection and image stabilization, 7.2Mbps HSDPA, and an FM radio with RDS, but the most visually distinctive goody on the phone clearly has to be its OLED-powered 5-way nav rocker that changes function based on the phone's mode. What isn't on the Soul's feature list is HSDPA 850 / 1900 (or even GSM 850, for that matter) -- so unless AT&T or T-Mobile want to foot the bill to bring a new version of this puppy stateside, its estimated asking price of €400 ($632 or so) might be better left in the average American's wallet.

New Satellite Phone Runs Windows Mobile, Has No Visible Antenna

elektrobit.jpg
The dreamers, they have their dreams. One of the big dreams for 2009-10, it seems, is new, hybrid satellite/cellular phones that work everywhere, but don't look like Cro-Magnon rock-hewing tools. MSV's Lost-style handset is supposedly coming in 2010, but it may be beaten to market by Elektrobit's sleek Windows Mobile satellite phone, which is supposedly arriving in 2009 and looks like a Motorola Q.

The most striking feature of the Elektrobit device is its antenna: it doesn't seem to have one. This is a slim, light (4.7 x 2.5 x .8' HWD) phone that runs on HSDPA high-speed cellular networks and uses Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional (yes, it has a touch screen) but also happens to connect to an upcoming satellite network being launched next year by Terrestar across North America. Or that's the plan, at least: this is a reference design, and the satellites aren't up in the air yet.

Other features of this concept include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, a MicroSD slot, a 3-megapixel camera and voice controls. Of course, Elektrobit could also be claiming it comes with a pony and cake, and we wouldn't be able to contradict them until next year at least. At least they don't seem to be ripping off Apple's iCal icon.

Elektrobit promises their PDA phone will be cost competitive with cell phones.

iPhone 2.0 and Other Apple Phone Rumors

iphone-nano-iphone-2g.jpg

Our friends at GenerationMP3 have it on good authority that Orange France has already seen iPhone 2.0 a.k.a iPhone 3G. In fact, Orange is testing the device right now. Launching coming soon.

Even better rumors have come CrunchGear’s way. Their source says that Apple is going to announce an entire line of iPhones or Apple Phones. There will a basic Apple Phone model that will be called iPhone Shuffle will be offered. This basic Apple phone will retain the screen size of current the current iPhone but will do away with features like video playback. This phone will only be 6.2mm thick and will make do of 4GB of memory. With a $159 price tag, who can complain, especially if it can be bought unlocked.

Another interesting rumor has something to do with an enterprise-friendly iPhone. It will be called iPhone Pro or iPhone Max and will feature three times the battery capacity of the current model. It will be 3G and come in a thicker casing. To cap it all up, GMP3’s source indicated the next-generation iPod Touch will have 3G connectivity as well as GPS. Wow!

Telus picks up the LG Venus

Strong work, Telus! First you guys are pretty much on the ball with your release of the BlackBerry 8330 Curve and the Motorola Q9c, and now you've become the first Canadian carrier to offer the LG Venus -- and you're clearly reveling in it, too, since you point out on your product page that this is actually LG's first touchscreen phone in all of Canada. $99.99 CAD (about $100) of your customer's hard-earned savings is going to net them a 2 megapixel camera, QVGA primary display, microSD slot, GPS, EV-DO, and stereo Bluetooth, so we'd say you've done good -- for the moment, anyway. Keep up the strong work.

TAG Heuer's €3,400 Meridiist handset gets official

Surely those rumored shots of TAG Heuer's luxurious first handset from last week are still stuck in your head, right? Go on and purge those puppies right on out, as we've got the very first press shots (more in the read link) of the now-official Meridiist to focus our attention on. Reportedly, the handset was indeed developed in partnership with Modelabs, and beyond the all-metal casing, you can also expect a sapphire crystal screen, 2-megapixel camera, multimedia player, 1.9-inch QVGA display, Bluetooth and a battery good for 7-hours of yappin' aimlessly about how pricey your new mobile is. Speaking of which, did we mention this prized piece will run you between €3,400 ($5,420) and €3,900 ($6,216), depending on customizations, when it sashays onto the scene in Q2? Yeah, ouch.

Pantech UTStarcom TXT8010 shows up at FCC

Pantech Elvis is the UTStarcom TXT8010Pantech's latest creation for UTStarcom has just reared its head on the FCC website. Pantech has dubbed this QWERTY-toting handset the Pantech Elvis, but the FCC label in the diagram clearly shows that it's the UTStarcom TXT8010.

The UTStarcom TXT8010 is a dual-band (850/1900Mhz) CDMA handset with text messaging as its main draw. It's a rare vertical slider with a QWERTY keyboard underneath the wide-load display.  The slide-out QWERTY keyboard should make easy work of any text input, and the 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, Brew, and microSD card slot should appease the more technically demanding masses.

The design of this vertical slider is attractive, if a bit fat. It'll be interesting to see how well this handset fares in a market full of QWERTY-keyboard mobile phones. But, on the up-side, the UTStarcom TXT8010 looks like a diminutive cellphone in the closed position - that could be enough to give it a leg up on the competition.

Samsung B510 Sneak Peek

Fancy taking a look at the Samsung B510? It somewhat resembles the Samsung M620, save for a more flat disposition and sharper corners. It is clearly the lesser endowed handset compared to the M510, and looks set to fall under the budget segment. No idea on when it will hit the streets though.

Samsung's B300 cell phone features both internal and external screens, with all the most basic information being displayed on the external screen. It is a dual-band handset that comes with a CSTN display (sucks to use this under bright light), and measures a pocket-friendly 87mm x 45mm x 18.6mm, targeting prepaid users as its main market mover. Hopefully it will be released soon in time for the summer holidays so that parents can always pick up a cheap handset for their kids who have been pestering them long enough.

T-Mobile's Shadow II revealed in spy pic

Just when we were getting used to T-Mobile's Shadow, it appears we're going to have to make room in our pockets for its successor... the Shadow II. Picking up almost exactly where the first iteration left off, this grainy spy shot reveals that its going to be more of the same for the revamp, save for some new rounded edges and oh-so-chic reflective finish. We'll assume the company is sticking to the plan with a slide out numeric keypad, but you never know; they could be hiding a QWERTY under there... or some kind of weird Gremlin.

Unboxing and hands-on: Motorola Z9 slider for AT&TJust a little over a week after I first saw it at CTIA, Motorola sent a review loaner of their new Z9 slider for AT&T.  The Z9 is a 3G slider that takes some styling cues from the RAZR2 series, and features Moto's Synergy OS along with a 2MP camera with flash, AT&T Video Share compatibility, GPS with Navigation services, and access to the carrier's Cellular Video streaming video service (not to be confused with the newly unveiled AT&T live TV service).

First thoughts after snapping some unboxing photos and firing the Z9 up?  It's a nice-looking handset, it's big, it's fast, and it's got tiny buttons.  The glossy burgundy finish looks really nice, and the wee little pin-head buttons aren't as hard to use as I feared they might be upon first glance.  3G connection speeds here at the Berkeley, CA office seem to be pretty good, as I was able to both hop on the Web and start watching some ESPN video clips with nary any delay at all.

But this phone is big!  Not thick, but big as in large footprint-big.  I was kind of surprised at how large it feels in hand, especially as compared to the RIZR Z6 slider that's been available on Verizon for awhile now.  The Z9 is actually about the same length and width as the RAZR2 V8, so it's not huge  or anything, but the added thickness and heft as compared to the V8 just make it feel larger.  There's an upside to that size, though, as the front is graced by a nice, big, 2.4' QVGA display.

Anyway, check out the photos and stay tuned for a full review in the coming weeks.  Or just go buy your own now - the Z9 is available as you read this from AT&T.

Ok, one last Samsung phone for the next few hours… The i900 is another attempt to create a touch-phone that runs Windows Mobile 6.1. • GSM/3G

  • WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0

  • USB 2.0

Unboxing and hands-on: RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8120 for T-MobileThough the BlackBerry Pearl itself isn't anything new, the T-Mobile 8120 I just unpackaged is worthy of a 'New!  Just Lauched!' notice, as it brings a few features to the fold that are unavailable on any other Pearl.  Most notably, the TMob version rocks WiFi for data access and UMA calling, aka 'HotSpot@Home.'  T-Mobile's got a few HotSpot WiFi phones in its lineup right about now, and the Pearl works as well or better than any of 'em if my quick initial test is anything to go by.  Voice quality, signal strength, and network handoff from GSM to UMA are all excellent on the 8120, as they were in my test of the Curve.

Beyond that the new Curve has a 2MP camera with Flash and 3.5mm headphone jack going for it.  T-Mobile and RIM have packaged the handset with a stereo headset, data cable, travel charger, and carrying case, which is a nice little array of pack-ins in this day and age of 'buy your own headphones, buddy' consumer treatment.  Pearl's grey and silver color scheme is nice in an understated sort of way, and I promise I'll spend some time trying to acclimate myself to the SureType keyboard before once again proclaiming, 'My thumbs are too big!  I hate SureType!'

Check out the photos of the newest Pearl by itself, with pack-ins, and alongside it's big brother Curve.  And stay tuned for a full review in the coming weeks.

Nokia's 6212 with Bluetooth NFC: Let the pairing revolution begin!

This is the day we've been waiting for. While the 3G Nokia 6212 classic doesn't look like much, what it lacks in style is more than made up by the genius of Bluetooth-enabled Near Field Communication. If you remember the video we showed you way back in March of 2007, the combo makes device pairing and transferring content like photos, video, music, calendar data, contacts, etc. as easy a touching the phone to a NFC-enabled picture frame, cellphone, speaker, or headset like Nokia's own NFC-variant of the BH-210. It will also work with NFC payment systems. According to Jeremy Belostock, the Head of Near Field Communications at Nokia, 'NFC-capable handsets such as the Nokia 6212 classic are set to change the way mobile phone users interact with devices and services in their surroundings.' You said it Jeremy, you said it. Expected to start shipping in Europe and Asia in the Q3 for about €200.

Nokia RM451 Mobile Phone Gets FCC Approval

desc

An as-yet unnamed Nokia mobile phone has made its appearance at the FCC. The phone, which carries the FCC ID RM451 (and is referred by the same name in the phone user manual), is approved for use on the EGSM 900, GSM 1800 and 1900 networks. The Nokia RM451 also includes 1GB of internal memory. It supports the Nokia Xpress audio messaging application, as well as the ability to create Flash messages. Flash messages are text messages that are instantly displayed upon receipt. Note that these messages are not automatically saved into the SMS application's Inbox.

The phone also supports Bluetooth. Tons of profiles are supported, including: SIM access, object push, file transfer, dial-up networking, headset, hands-free, service discovery application, generic access, serial port, and generic object exchange. No name, no word on the availability or pricing. But the phone looks stylish enough, so I won't be surprised if it is one of Nokia's fashion phones.

Samsung U800 Soul-like candybar, Samsung i900 WM 6.1 touchscreen, and Samsung L870 Symbian S60 smartphones show up: "

Recently Samsung has been quite active showing off their as yet unannounced handsets in various foreign countries.

Ukraine and Holland has been the preferred locations for now. And today the Dutch branch of Samsung is having a treat for us again.

Apparently there was a Dutch telecom event called Televisie 2008, and Samsung had showed up there with no less then 3 new, as yet unannounced, handsets.

First of, spotted by PortableGear.nl is Samsung U800:

With a full brushed metal body, Samsung U800 somewhat reminds Samsung Soul U900, and the numbering scheme also suggests that it might be a cheaper, simpler addition to the Soul line of branded phones.

As you can see from the picture, Samsung U800 is a quad-band GSM, GPRS, UMTS candybar with 3.2 megapixel camera, FM Radio, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0 and 111x46x9.8 mm dimensions.

Another handset shown off during the event was picked up by GSMHelpDesk, and it’s none other then Samsung i900 Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone, that we talked about few months ago:

Well, as you can see Samsung SGH i900 full touchscreen smartphone is real after all, and it truly runs on Windows Mobile 6.1. Other then that, the confirmed specs of Samsung i900 include 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, triband GSM, GPRS, UMTS, Bluetooth 2.0 and USB 2.0 connectivity, and 112x56x13 mm dimensions. No GPS though.

The third device, spotted by MobileCowboys.nl is Samsung L870 Symbian Smartphone:

Samsung L870 is a Qudband GSM, GPRS, UMTS slider running on Symbian S60, with 3 megapixel camera FM radio, BT 2.0 and USB 2.0, and measures at 102x50x13.55 mm

I believe in MWg Zinc IIMWG, a newcomer and go-getting company based in Singapore and who’s been making a crust by brewing a raft number of real smart phones for the emerging market, unrolled another power-packed smart phone christened as the MWg Zinc II.

To start the ball rolling, the up-and-coming smart phone sports a UMTS Tri-band, GSM-Quadband, 3.6 Mbps HSDPA and WLAN (802.11 b/g) connectivity.

Apart from those already mentioned flairs, the nifty smart phone also brags a 500 Mhz Samsung processor, 2.8’ TFT QVGA Touch Screen, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional OS and SirF Star III GPS.

In the end, a 2 Megapixel Digital Camera also comes in handy to capture those picture-perfect moments of yours.

Samsung's t339 for T-Mobile: yep, it does HotSpot@Home

Thanks to a few BlackBerrys, we can keep our standard 'there aren't any HotSpot@Home-compatible smartphones!' argument to a minimum here, but still -- you've gotta admit that T-Mobile's seriously going overboard with the midrange WiFi handsets. It looks like the upcoming t339 flip will be yet another, thanks to FCC documentation showing the presence of 802.11 aboard its thin, brownish shell. For what it's worth, this could end up being the sexiest HotSpot@Home dumbphone yet (we're not huge fans of the Katalyst's look, we admit), but still, guys, give us an N95 or something. Please. No release date here yet, but we'll keep y'all in the loop.

As promised we’ve given the LG Glimmer a good drubbing and came back satisfied that almost everyone would enjoy this sexy haptic slider from LG.

With the demise of the RAZR, phones have gone one of two directions — gloss black/dark or odd metals. The RAZR brought us into the chrome and steel era of cellphone design and I believe that LG is taking that aesthetic to the next level with the brushed metal of the Glimmer. In fact, this thing doesn’t glimmer at all. It’s very staid and elegant with a bright 2.8-inch touch screen and pop down buttons.

scaled.IMG 1698scaled.IMG 1700scaled.IMG 1695scaled.IMG 1697scaled.IMG 1702scaled.IMG 1696scaled.IMG 1701

This phone is a standard slider with some cool features. It has music and video playback as well as A-GPS support. It supports Bluetooth and USB mass storage and voice dialing. It records video and plays Alltell’s Axcess TV service.

The phone runs LG’s own OS and features cool haptic feedback with each screen press. There is a four panel menu - phone, media, tools, and set-up - and everything happens off of those menus. From the main screen you can pop into the menu, make a call, send a message, or view contacts. A quick menu allows you to easily add and remove applications or you can drill down through the menu system to get to your desired application.

Some sites call this an iPhone rival. I’d say it’s more of a RAZR/Voyager rival. The screen is beautiful, the styling is great, but the features just aren’t there, especially in terms of smartphone features like email and chat. It’s a beautiful phone — I’ve never faulted LG on their design — but it’s just a slider.

The phone is $129.99 after rebates and I’d actually recommend it at that price. It’s a sturdy cell with a lot going for it and it should last as long as similarly priced cellphones. This is a workhorse with media abilities, yet it’s easy on the eyes — something most manufacturers can’t say these days.

Nokia 5800 Xpress Media Tube shows it’s face

It did not take long for almost complete information about Nokia Tube full touchscreen phone to come out.

It looks like quite a few people were quietly sitting on the story and waited for a first hint from Nokia that they can go forward with the news. And after the first semi-official presentation, they did.

First was a Symbian-Freak with a live photo’s of the Nokia Tube:

Then, NokiaPort.de chimed in with the model number and full specs. The device in the pictures is Nokia 5800 XpressMedia phone.

Nokia 5800 Tube specs include:

  • Quad-Band GSM (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 Mhz), EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA connectivity

  • 3.2″ 640x360 px (16:9 ratio) 16M color touchscreen display

  • 3.2 Megapixel camera with autofocus

  • Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth 2.0

  • 140 MB of internal memory

  • 3.5 mm headphone jack

  • TV-Out

  • Dimensions: 111x52x14.5mm

  • Weight: 104g

Nokia 5800 XpressMedia phone sports tactile feedback, but, unfortunately, comes without multi-touch support. So you’ll have to put up with a standard touchscreen functionality.

To tell the truth, I have a bit mixed feelings about this device. On the one hand, the specs list, apart of the camera, is pretty respectable. It’s also good that Nokia finally decided to move beyond the it’s Xpress Music phones, and optimize new handset for a wider media, including high quality video.

On the other hand, nothing in the feature list, or design really excites me. The only novelty here is a big touchscreen, with what appears to be traditional touch controls. But we’ve seen plenty of that coming out from LG, Samsung, HTC, Asus and plenty of others. And it still remains to be seen how well the touch UI works on a Nokia 5800 XpressMedia phone.

I hope that Nokia has some more and bigger surprises up it’s sleeve, and when they do get about announcing their new flagship device, it will stun everybody like it did with Nokia N95 in the fall of 2006.

Review: Palm Treo 755p

CIMG3739

The Treo

Verizon is the latest CDMA carrier to land the Palm Treo 755p, a high-end smartphone for the business user who’s tired of Windows Mobile but still wants all the connectivity and email options a smartphone provides.

While pricey, it’s a pretty impressive device worth considering.

The Good Stuff

The 755p is a full-sized, full feature smartphone that really does it all. While it might be considered large or heavy by some users’ standards, it’s actually a pocketable device.

The 320x320 touchscreen is bright and clear and has a bezel around it angled just right for the included stylus, which rests flush with the back of the device.

It also features a full QWERTY keyboard with perfect sized keys. This reviewer has fat fingers, but I never get a typo. You won’t be writing a novel with it, but it’s great for emails or text messaging.

There are quite a few built-in applications, and the Palm implementation of Google Maps is perfect. The application works well with a stylus, and many of the desktop features are included. The 1.3-Megapixel camera is adequate, and it has that nifty self portrait mirror so, so popular with slutty teens on MySpace.

We were glad to see Palm maintained the ringer mute switch at the top of the device, one of our favorites.

The full version of DataViz’s Documents to Go is included for reading, editing, and writing any MS Office docs.

There’s a button on the side that can be customized to open any application, though it defaults to activating the camera.

Running on Verizon’s 3G BroadbandAccess network, the data comes at you fast. Emails are almost instant and getting around Google Maps is as fast as on a desktop. It’s wonderful.

CIMG3743

CIMG3738 1

Not so good

The Centro line from Palm includes a very handy instant messaging program that works with all three major networks. The Treo does not have this application included.

The phone is a heavyweight. At 5.6 ounces it’s not a RAZR, but then it does quite a bit more.

One of these days all phone manufacturers will realize that a camera without a flash is kind of silly. Here’s hoping Palm is one of them.

The Treo accepts MiniSD cards, even though its cousin, the 680, which is the same size, enjoys cheaper, full-sized SD cards. That is sad.

Conclusion

The Treo is Palm’s business smartphone, and in that regard, it’s really great. If you’re a power user and like everything right in front of you in an easy to use package, this is your smartphone. If you’re a consumer, look to the Treos, iPhones, and Oceans of the world.

$6100 Croc-Skinned Tag Heuer Meridiist Phone: Nothing But a Pretty Face [Cellphones]

Watchmaker Tag Heuer today announced its Vertu wannabe, the Meridiist. Like others in its class, its high price doesn't seem to justify the goods, unless you count a choice of crocodile, leather or rubber, a sapphire crystal main screen and a famous name. The specs are almost entirely unimpressive: 1.9' QVGA main screen, monochrome OLED on its outer rim, 2-megapixel camera, MP3/AAC/MPEG-4 playback. There's no mention of 3G functionality, so I'm going to guess it can only do GSM/GPRS, and though the 7-hour talk time is pleasantly above average, it had better have something to brag about besides style for the price, which will range from about $5300 to $6100.

Black Label Series 3 LG KF750 phone gets official. Will get a name soon

Well, finally. I’ve been waiting for LG KF750 fashion handset to show up officially in LG press releases for more then a month now.

We’ve had had two friggin major consumer electronics and mobile industry shows in the meantime.  Sure LG could have used these events for a major handset announcement?

Apparently not. Instead LG decided to get all mysterious on us and start preparation for KF750 launch with a teaser press release, without even mentioning the name of the device.

Instead of some real info and specs, it’s showing us some pictures of KF750 and 5 megapixel camera of it.

Well, it’s up to LG to decide how to market it’s phone. And since LG KF750 is supposed to start a major new line (in addition to LG Shine and Chocolate phones), of a highly successful Black label series, some additional creative marketing push might be in order. Especially since LG’s main Korean rival Samsung has already started copying it’s approach to branded fashion/feature phone marketing.

And our job here is to tell what else we know about LG KF750. Not much more admittedly, but we can tell you that it will come with 5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash,  160 MB of internal memory and microSD memory card slot.

LG Black Label Series 3 KF750 phone will also feature and interesting touchpad, which is something of a cross between the ones found on LG KF510 and LG KF600 handsets. It will also be made using advanced materials such as carbon fibre, reinforced scratch resistant display glass and is may feature touchscreen as well .

The new LG KF750 Black Label 3 phone will be officially launched on April 24th in Europe.

Elektrobit unveils HSPA handset

eb-terrestar.jpgCTIA Wireless 2008 was the platform where Elektrobit released its dual-mode satellite terrestrial HSPA handset, and this modern marvel has stirred quite a fair bit of interest. It touts itself to be the ‘first fully IP-based Quad-band GSM-satellite phone’ which features a touch screen display, a full QWERTY keyboard, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, USB, and GPS navigation, all powered by the Windows 6.1 mobile operating system. It will come in a PDA form factor, where users in the US will be able to seamlessly and securely connect via both the satellite and terrestrial components of the TerreStar network. That is currently the sole carrier at this stage, so who knows whether there will be others in the future?

Both Elektrobit and TerreStar have come together to deliver a new generation of mobile reference designs that will bring together the first quad-band GSM and tri-band WCDMA/HSPA smartphone with integrated all-IP satellite-terrestrial voice and data capabilities in the world. Among the other notable firsts would be this being the only fully IP-based satellite phone using high-speed packet data, also taking top spot in being the only satellite-terrestrial smartphone with a touch screen and a full QWERTY keyboard in addition to being the only satellite-terrestrial smartphone based on Windows Mobile operating system, accompanied by other services such as SMS, MMS, IM, Email, Push to Talk and Location Based Services (LBS).

Some of the specifications to be included into the EB-TerreStar reference designs include :-

  • Windows Mobile Professional Operating System

  • 100MB of internal memory

  • Lightweight form factor

  • 4.7″ x 2.5″ x 0.8″

  • Built-in Bluetooth connectivity

  • Integrated WiFi connectivity

  • GPS navigation

  • Mass handset customization possibilities

No idea on how much this will cost when it finally hits the market though, but it looks (and sounds) set to be one feature packed smartphone.

Gresso adds some steel to your smartphone

gresso-lunasol.jpg

So you’re thinking of rocking to a Windows Mobile smartphone, but am not sure on just which handset to settle upon? Gresso from Russia has the solution which might answer your prayers by offering the ‘Sol Steel’ and ‘Luna Steel’ that will retail for approximately $5,500 each. The cases themselves are made out of luxurious materials according to Gresso, including 200-year-old African Blackwood, sapphire crystal glass, steel, and titanium. Now that’s luxury if I ever saw one. Good thing no diamonds were thrown into the fray as that would’ve definitely put this out of reach for most people, but that isn’t to say every Tom, Dick and Harry has $5,500 to spare in their bank account in the first place.

It does make me wonder though - will 200 year old African Blackwood actually be treated so that termites won’t be able to make a quick meal out of $5,500? Well, even if that happens, at least I can still salvage the aircraft-grade steel which has been polished and coated with titanium, being used for the handset’s back panels and keyboard areas. Gotta love the magnetic lock for the battery cover too, which will improve reliability and ease of use.

Some of the specifications of the Gresso Steel series include :-

  • 64MB RAM

  • 2GB internal flash memory

  • Windows Mobile 6.0 (what, no 6.1?)

  • 320 x 240 resolution sapphire crystal display

  • 2 megapixel camera

  • Tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz)

  • Bluetooth 1.2 connectivity

  • USB 2.0 connectivity

  • 1,100mAh lithium ion battery

  • 4 hour talk time

  • 150 hours standby time

  • 4.7″ x 1.9″ x 0.6″

The $5,500 price tag make this the domain of the rich, but if you feel like splurging out even more, there are always previous Sol and Luna models which feature gold keypads instead of the steel ones used here. Needless to say, they pack a more potent punch to your wallet, retailing for 7,000 and 5,000 Euros respectively.

Chilling out to some telly on the Samsung Access

The Vu is going to end up stealing the bulk of the spotlight when AT&T's initial Mobile TV devices launch in May, but the Samsung Access has one key advantage over its sexier stablemate: aggressive pricing. The wide-load candybar (thanks to the landscape display) will run $100 less than the Vu while offering the same quantity and quality of brainpower-sapping television. In fact, we imagine there'll be a contingent of folks who actually prefer the physical keypad (gasp!). We wish Samsung had put just a little bit more thought and energy into the Access' physical design -- there's no rule saying a $199 phone has to be ugly, last time we checked -- but it's functional, looks and feels solid, and you'll still manage to impress the neighbors when you fire up CNN. AT&T had a functional MediaFLO node in Las Vegas, as evidenced by the glorious footage we took in while hanging out at the Access' kiosk; hit the gallery for some more visuals of the device in action.

Hands-on with Samsung Access, Samsung Alias and Samsung Instinct from CTIA Las Vegas 2008

Samsung Access for AT&T Mobile TVSamsung didn't really have much to show at CTIA, which is pretty much in line with the lack of anything new from CTIA Las Vegas 2008, but they did have the new Samsung Access and the Samsung Alias on showcase.

The Samsung Alias is an updated successor to the popular dual-hinge Samsung SCH-u740 clamshell handset for Verizon Wireless. What's new? Aside from the updated QWERTY keyboard, not much. As Dusan menioned, the slim clamshell has been updated with a keyboard that features a two-tone color scheme that should make number entry easier in both landscape and portraint orientation. The number keys are highlighted in white and include the alpha characters for each numeric key. The idea is to make number entry as easy as possible while still retaining the benefits of a QWERTY keyboard.

The Samsung Alias keeps the same 1.3 megapixel camera with flash, VCAST Music, VCAST Video, microSD card slot, and Bluetooth that we saw in the Samsung u740. Expect it to drop this month for $130 after 2-year contract and $50 rebate.

The Samsung Access is billed as Samsung's newest mobile TV handset that's getting prepped to work with AT&T's newly launched AT&T Mobile TV service. The Samsung Access is a slim and small quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) handset with US-friendly HSDPA (850/1900Mhz) 3G frequency support - of course, it has to handle all that video data. In the hand, the Samsung Access feels solid yet light. It's almost the perfect compromise in size - Samsung would do well to include a larger display on the Access successor.

We're looking for the Access to launch in Q2 2008 (May) with its 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 A2DP, microSD card slot, AT&T Music, and one-touch access to AT&T Video service packed into the 12mm slim package.

And, of course, there's the Samsung Instinct. I already showed you this handset, but as the iPhone competitor from Sprint, I though it worthy of another mention. GPS on this device is great, but the web browser will need more work if Sprint and Samsung hope to put up a fight against the iPhone. The browser was clunky and failed to load 'IntoMobile.com' fully. On the plus side, the built-in accelerometer can be used to pan around a webpage - it's more of a gimmick than a useful feature, but we're all about gimmicks over here. Read more about the Samsung Instinct here.

The back of the 3G iPhone looks ceramic or fiberglass or plastic that they made to look like ceramic or fiber glass. The camera on the top left, though, looks weirdly located. Ca one actually point and shoot with that thing right there? Of course, with this 3G version is also the iPhone SDK adding new software to the iPhone via the App Store. Commenters on iPod Observer… ahem, observed that this iPhone may be shorter or smaller than the original. Well, hope it fits better in my pocket.

LG's Mind Reading Phone Now in India
LG Electronics today announced the India launch of its award-winning KF600 mobile phone that comes with an intuitive InteractPad -- among other features.

The trapezoid-shaped phone has a sleek look and a glossy finish, and is targeted mainly at youngsters. It boasts eight integrated graphic themes that LG claims are fun to use besides being capable of each acting as an extension of the handset owner's personality.

Arguably, the highlight of the handset is its intuitive InteractPad that replaces physical navigation keys with context-specific virtual keys that change to fit the task at hand. According to LG, the virtual keys show the user the exact keys that are required to complete the task at hand thus eliminating distractions. As such, the user doesn't have to memorize which key does what, thanks to the InteractPad and its virtual keys. Besides, LG claims the virtual keys are larger and better-spaced than physical keys thus improving accuracy.

According to LG, the InteractPad is also an ideal interface for controlling the KF600's powerful multimedia features including a 3 mega pixels camera and video camera, MP3 player, FM radio, Bluetooth, etc. With controls not tied down to physical buttons, each function ends up having a custom interface to make it very easy to use.

Speaking at the KF600 launch, Anil Arora, business group head (GSM) of LG Electronics India, said, 'Usability is truly at the center of this handset's design, and it represents LG's latest achievement in making phones that connect with their users.'

The LG KF600 is immediately available pan-India for Rs 14,990.

Touchscreen Satellite Phone Is as Beautiful as a Normal Cellphone

photo-1.jpgI could say that Mobile Satellite Ventures' touchscreen offering is nice for a satellite phone. But screw that, this thing just looks nice, period. The L-Series phone is .6 inches thick, slides up to reveal a 0-9 keypad, has Wi-Fi and also works on cellular bands. The strangely-familiar interface of the homescreen looks as nice as any smartphone, and has drawn comparisons to the the satellite phone used in LOST. Unfortunately, Desmond won't be tracking Penny down with this thing anytime soon, because MSV won't drop the phone until 2010, satellite service will only cover North America and it doesn't have a quick launch icon for the wonderful works of Mr. Charles Dickens. Seems like a waste to me, brotha. [Gearlog]

Panasonic Bring Plasma To Cell Phones

Panasonic Bring Plasma To Cell Phones

Panasonic ain't too shabby when it comes to plasma displays - after all, they're the ones with the monster 150' display at this year's CES.This time, they're bringing a new iteration of its plasma technology to cell phones, aiming to take on OLEDs as well as other display technologies found in handheld and mobile devices. Surprisingly, this new small sized plasma display sips a mere 1.5 volts of power and is pretty close in terms of thickness and weight when compared against other portable displays. Panasonic also claims that this display boasts richer color and contrast ratios than most LCDs. The first plasma-enabled Panasonic cell phone will be made available in Japan sometime in the near future. I wonder how much more of a premium we'll need to pay for such technology.

LG LX400, Motorola V950, and pair of Samsungs round out Sprint's QChat fare

As we've long known, Sanyo isn't the only company contributing goodies to the opening volley of CDMA Direct Connect devices for Sprint -- LG, Motorola, and Samsung all want in on the action, too. LG brings the LX400, featuring a 1.3 megapixel camera in a burgundy shell; it's not our cup of tea, but folks looking for something on the non-rugged side of the PTT spectrum might find their soulmate here. Next up, the Motorola V950 is pretty notable since it marks Moto's inevitable foray away from its own iDEN tech and toward something just a little more modern to support the push-to-talk functionality its users so deeply love. It's a media powerhouse, too, thanks to external music controls, a microSD slot, stereo Bluetooth, and a 2 megapixel cam. Finally, Samsung comes to the table with two models: the rubberized Z400 (surprisingly appearing to be the most hardcore of the foursome) that trades consumer-friendly features for a tough shell -- though they've still felt the need to slap a 1.3 megapixel cam on there -- and the Z700, a fancy, refined set that looks fit for duty in the most fancy of pockets and shares much of its spec sheet with the Moto V950. Pricing and availability haven't been announced for any of the four, but we imagine they'll be pretty reasonable given the overall modesty across the line.

Samsung Alias Sneak Peek

Samsung Alias Sneak Peek

Here's a snapshot of the Samsung Alias that will replace Verizon's u740, bringing an improved keyboard layout, a 1.3 megapixel camera (bah!), touch music controls and an overall improved feature set. This looks like a clamshell handset that can open up both ways - horizontally and vertically, just like Nokia's N93i. This will be much cheaper though, retailing for $130.

Sprint Has Sanyo Katana LX

Sprint Has Sanyo Katana LX

Sprint is the carrier of choice if you want to pick up the Sanyo Katana LX which will be available in blue, pink and gray colors. Here are some specifications of the Katana LX :-

  • 1X data speed

  • 128 x 160 resolution display

  • VGA camera

  • GPS connectivity
As you can see, the LX isn't much to shout about, but it does look pretty sleek with a 'disappearing' OLED external display whenever it isn't on. Hopefully the Katana LX will retain the excellent speakerphone and voice quality as its predecessors.

Velocity 103 and 111 Launched

Velocity Mobile

Velocity Mobile is the newest mobile player. Will it replace Motorola when the latter finally calls it quits on the cellphone industry?

Velocity 103 and 111 look like very promising smartphones, 103 more so than the 111 because of its unique design. Both phones will be touchscreen and running WinMo 6.1 and offer 3G, HSDPA and HSUPA, WiFi connectivity and even GPS. Should Velocity Mobile focus on releasing phones with fast connectivity, that will surely be interesting. Velocity 103 is real multi-media monster in other words equipped with a 640×480 VGA touch screen. Now, I haven’t seen a better screen like this on any recent phone and I wonder how VM would price this one. The Velocity 103 will come out first at Q2 and Velocity 111 following at Q3.

BenQ announces super-slim T60 mobile phone

benq_t60.jpg

BenQ has announced the T60 mobile phone, an ultra-slim phone measuring only 8.9mm thin. With a phone unit as slim as the BenQ T60, you would expect it to have a large LCD display. But then, the BenQ T60 defies this limitation and sports a 2.2 inch QVGA TFT LCD display. Aside from the large display, the T60 also has a 3.2 megapixel camera. How BenQ manage to slipped in a camera in the BenQ T60 mobile is a wonder really. The BenQ T60 is also geared for entertainment purposes, with its multimedia player that supports MPEG4, MP3, AMR, MIDI, and SP-MIDI. Here’s more, the BenQ T60 is also loaded with 24 mb of internal memory, integrated FM radio with schedule recording function and a microSD slot for memory expansion. Got room for more? Other features of the BenQ T60 include; Bluetooth with stereo sound (A2DP), remote control support, USB connectivity and boasts of 200 hours standby time and 3 hours talktime. If you are thinking that the BenQ T60 mobile phone must be too thick by now with all its features and add-ons, think again. Because the BenQ T60 was designed with smooth curved blade that enhances the phone’s svelte look. The design also makes the BenQ easy to slide in pockets and purses without causing too much bulges. The BenQ T60’s 5-way navigation key adds to its brilliance with its metallic texture. The BenQ T60 will be released sometime in April in Taiwan and Turkey. I’d love to see this phone goes to the international mobile market.
